Clyde North Secondary School (Interim Name)

Dear Parents/Carers and Students

I would like to introduce myself, Leanne Winfield, as the new Principal at Clyde North Secondary School (interim name).

I have been a Principal for four years at a school in the country, an Assistant Principal for a number of years in a suburban school and an English teacher in several schools. I have worked in government schools for over 30 years. I am committed to providing a balanced, challenging 21st century curriculum with opportunities for students to develop their abilities in core and specialist areas, where they are supported and engaged in learning to achieve their full potential. My passion is to continue to grow students’ literacy skills as they move to the first years of secondary school as these skills are the basis for all of the learning that they do.

At the moment I am working on policy and planning and I have begun the process of employing staff: a Business Manager and Assistant Principal. The builders are very busy with work at the school site, which you can see if you drive past the site on Thompsons Road.

There will be parent/carer/student meetings early next term to provide more information about the school. I have been visiting the local primary schools to meet the Principals and in Term 3 the Assistant Principal and I will be meeting with Grade 6 teachers to discuss transition.

If you have questions you would like answered at the information session, please send these to: clyde.north.ss@education.vic.gov.au
