Art News
From Mel & Tess, Art Specialist teachers
Year 1
Students have been cutting and folding to make abstract paper sculptures with lots of movement.
Year 3 and 5
Students have been focussing on slowing down and using art as a mindfulness tool. Students used fine liner and black pens to create intricate radial patterns on their mandalas. Students then decided if they wanted to add colour and then mounted them on coloured paper.
Year 6
Students created a word splash with action words, emotive words and themes that relate to activism, which they have been exploring in their class this term. Students were encourage to choose a word they felt passionate about to create into a poster turn into a sculpture. On card students used fine liner to pattern and add any symbols relating to their word. They also used colours that they felt best represented their idea.
