Monash University Science precinct tours – Tuesday and Thursday, 2 to 11 July

A great opportunity for Year 12 students to visit Monash’s science facilities and student spaces, and to chat with some of their current students and staff. You can take a closer look at where you might be studying next year and also receive course advice. Go here for tour details and bookings.

 

ACU Ballarat campus – Discipline guided visits

For students interested in studying at ACU’s Ballarat Campus, they will be holding discipline-based guided visits over the upcoming school holidays, providing a valuable opportunity to tour the campus, meet with current students and sit down with course coordinators to have their questions answered. Their July visits are in the areas of nursing, paramedicine, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, and a September session for those interested in teaching. Register here.

 

 

 

A Day in the Life of a Swinburne TAFE Student – 2 and 11 July

TAFE is a great option for those who can’t wait to get hands-on experience, with certificate and diploma courses providing the skills students need to be job ready. Students have the chance to experience a day in the life of a TAFE student at two special events at Swinburne’s Wantirna and Croydon campuses. With 11 different study areas to choose from, interactive workshops, a chance to ask teaching staff lots of questions, a free lunch and more, they won’t want to miss out. Visit the below links for event details and registration.

Swinburne Youth Space Innovation Challenge – 3 to 5 July

Over three days, year 10 to 12 students will embark on an unforgettable science journey, learning and working with astronomers and space scientists on challenge-based problems. The experience includes hands-on activities, immersive workshops, a close-up look at the two supercomputers and a space exploration experience using Swinburne’s 3D astro tour. The program runs 9am to 4pm each day at Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus. Go here for event details including cost and registration

 

Collarts Winter school holiday workshops – 6 to 7 July

During the upcoming school holidays Collarts will have practical workshops held at their campuses for students in Years 10, 11, and 12. There will be workshops from a wide range of our courses including Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing, Photography, Performing Arts, Graphic Design, Animation, Interior Design, Screen & Media, Music, Event Management, and Audio. Tickets are $15 for half-day workshops and $30 for full-day workshops. Students can also access 50% off their second workshop. Find out more and get tickets here.

 

AIE Film Production Workshop – Saturday 20 July

Learn what it takes to plan and produce a film shoot in this intensive film production workshop. You will get hands-on with cameras, lighting, and the latest in virtual production LED screens. Industry-experienced filmmakers will guide you in taking your script through the various production stages. This workshop will fast-track the film production process by choosing one scene and taking it through the pipeline from idea to finished shots. As part of this process, participants will be leveraging virtual production sets! This is an exclusive opportunity to learn more about this revolutionary technology which is empowering filmmakers. This workshop is suited to participants 16 years+ that are interested in learning more about film, working in film crews and developing their own short films. There's a wide range of exciting, tailored programs on offer that are designed to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders start their career in the ADF with confidence. In the ADF, students will enjoy financial security, rewarding work and plenty of personal growth. They’ll have the opportunity to become a leader in their career who inspires their community. Employment opportunities at Splash’s Swim School for Years 9 to 12

Splash’s is again recruiting students to join their teams of swim teachers and teaching assistants at Splash’s Berwick, Clyde North, Dandenong and Pakenham. They are seeking applications from students aged 14 years and over who are reliable, energetic and work well in a team. Shifts are available after school on weekdays and on Saturday and Sunday mornings. 

Swim teaching gives students an excellent opportunity to work with and teach people of all ages and abilities. Splash’s offers a fun, dynamic work environment with excellent conditions, including provision of uniform, mentoring and ongoing training.
