Student Learning

Foundation
Students have been making patterns with lots of different materials.
In Mappen the preps have been looking at how liquids change. We've looked at water changing to ice and how ice melts outside. This week we changed cream into butter by shaking it in jars. A marble was added and the cream separated into butter
Year 1/2
Reading – In second work time, the children had a great time playing the phonics game Talisman. It’s a fun way for them to practise words at their own reading level.
Writing – We’ve started our persuasive writing unit, and the students are loving it! They used their imagination to design an invention and have begun writing a persuasive piece to convince someone why they should buy their invention.
Skillzone – The students have been having lots of fun playing different ball games, including dodgeball.
Year 3/4
PE looked a little different this week Mrs Smith had some fun team work challenges!
Year 5/6
A group of Year 6 students have been participating in an Advanced Maths class. Students have enjoyed extending their knowledge and taking on new challenges.
Last week we had a police officer come to give our Year 5/6 students a chat about Cyber Safety. It was an important session for students to learn about the risks of being online and how to keep themselves safe. Students that were very engaged and participated in lots of discussion around cyber safety.
Art
In Art this week, the Foundation and Year 3/4 students focused on the significance of Remembrance Day. Together, they created a beautiful class wreath and took part in a thoughtful discussion about what the day means and why we commemorate it. The students demonstrated excellent teamwork, supported one another, and fully engaged in their learning. It was wonderful to see how much they enjoyed the lesson. Keep up the fantastic effort, everyone!
