Monday 10 November
Our next Primary School Assembly will take place in The Farrall Centre on Monday 10 November at 2.15pm. We welcome members of our community to attend. Please remember that due to privacy concerns and to respect the photo permission choices of other families we ask you to refrain from taking photos and videos during assemblies.
Year 7 2026 - Information Evening
Tuesday 25 November
There will be an Information Evening on Tuesday 25 November for parents, guardians and students, commencing Year 7 in 2026. The evening will run from 7.00pm until 8.30pm and will be held in The Farrall Centre.
This is a valuable opportunity to learn more about our Year 7 and the Middle School program, to meet key staff members and other parents. Presentations will include information about the curricular and co-curricular programs, pastoral care structure and what to expect as a student in the Middle School.
Marimba Mania - Tomorrow
Friday 7 November
The Friends’ School Year 5 and 6 Marimba Ensembles will be participating in the annual Marimba Mania Concert which will take place on Friday 7 November. The event will see students from schools across Hobart combine to create an incredible, massed Marimba ensemble. We will travel to Margate Primary School Gymnasium by bus, leaving school at 8:45am sharp and returning at 1.40pm. Students should wear their Formal School Uniform and bring a packed lunch, afternoon snack, drink bottle and hat. The Public Performance will take place at 12.00pm - 12.45pm with parents and friends welcome to attend. Please note that the concert is during the DAYTIME, there is NO EVENING CONCERT. This is a free event for parents and friends and no ticket is required.
Years 1 and 2 - Learn to Swim Program
Monday 10 - Friday 14 November
The Years 1 and 2 Learn to Swim program will be held at Friends’ Health & Fitness from Monday 10 November - Friday 14 November. Any enquiries please contact Lisa Di Venuto.
Primary School Free Dress Day
Thursday 13 November
The Primary School Council have organised a free dress day on Thursday 13 November to celebrate World Kindness Day. If your child would like to participate please bring a gold coin donation to help us raise money for the Hobart City Mission. Each class is also organising their own unique piece of kindness on this special day.
Years 5 and 6 Growing Up Program
Monday 17 - Friday 21 November
Growing Up – a relationships, sexuality and protective behaviours program, will be run by Family Planning Tasmania for our Years 5 and 6 students starting on Monday 17 November. There will be a parent information session for Years 5 and 6 parents on Monday 17 November at 8.30am - 9.00am in the Primary School Library. For information about talking to your child about relationships, sexuality and puberty see this publication from the Department of Health.
Primary Music Showcase
Tuesday 18 November starting at 6pm
Please join us in The Farrall Centre at 6pm for our Primary Music Showcase, featuring our primary instrumental and vocal ensembles. It will be an evening to enjoy the result of all the hard work our Primary students and music staff put in each and every week.
Entry is free and all are welcome.
Absentees
If your child will be absent from school for the day please advise the Primary School Office (phone: 6210 2228, or email: primaryschooloffice@friends.tas.edu.au) and the classroom teacher before 8.45am. We appreciate your support in this process.
