Last Tuesday afternoon, our Performing Arts Complex came alive with the sound of music as students from Years 5 to 12 took to the stage for our Studio Concerts. Held across multiple venues, these concerts were a wonderful opportunity for families and the wider school community to witness the incredible talent and dedication of our young musicians.
The performances showcased the breadth of learning taking place in our weekly music lessons, with students presenting solo and small ensemble pieces that reflected their hard work and musical growth. A heartfelt thank you goes to our Strings Coordinator, Catherine Wasserman, for her leadership and organisation in bringing this event to life.
We invite you to enjoy some video highlights from the afternoon, capturing just a few of the many memorable moments from this special event.

Last Wednesday evening, our Years 5 and 6 students lit up the stage with their Drama Showcase concerts – a joyful culmination of a year’s worth of creativity, collaboration, and commitment in Drama Club.
The evening featured a series of short skits woven into a playful ‘true detective’ storyline, where classic fairytale characters found themselves in hilarious and unexpected situations. With clever dialogue, imaginative storytelling, and a healthy dose of chaos, the performances had the audience laughing from start to finish.
The showcase was brought to life with vibrant costumes, engaging sets, and well-chosen music, all of which added to the energy and charm of the night. It was also heartening to see our senior cultural leaders supporting the younger students, helping to create a warm and encouraging atmosphere backstage and beyond.
Congratulations to Louise Marshall for her outstanding coordination of this program, and a big thank you to all the student volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make the evening such a success.

The final selection is based on public voting, and Radial Delay needs your support to take the next step. Voting is open until 8:00am, Wednesday 12 November.

Brisbane-born singer-songwriter and former Marist College Ashgrove student Joel Adams is in the spotlight once again with the re-release of his viral 2015 debut single, Please Don’t Go. Originally written when Joel was just 15 for a school performance, the heartfelt ballad has enjoyed enduring popularity, amassing over 130 million views on YouTube and hundreds of millions of streams worldwide.
Now, a decade after its original release, Joel is breathing new life into the track, offering fans a refreshed version that blends the emotional depth of the original with modern production flair. The re-release marks a full-circle moment for the artist, who first rose to fame after his self-produced single went viral, charting in over a dozen countries.
Reflecting on this milestone, Adams writes: “Ten years ago, I wrote Please Don’t Go in my bedroom not knowing it would change my life. What started as a simple song reached millions of hearts around the world. This rerelease is about closure gratitude and reclaiming the story that started it all.”
