Parent Contributions 2026
Letters for Parent Contribution for 2026 will be released shortly. We understand that finances are a little tough for many people, but please consider if you can make some or all of the school contributions for next year.
Schools are also finding balancing the finances really tough as costs are climbing and the government support for education and schools is declining (proportionally).
These resources are well used to provide the extended curriculum and programs here at Jells Park PS and we would greatly appreciate your support.
Please contact our Business Manager, Jo-Anne Hoare, if it helps you to establish a payment plan or something similar.
Policy Updates
Parents please note that we are updating a number of policies, in line with updates from the Department of Education.
If you have any feedback on any policy or procedure or guidelines of the school, we welcome your feedback.
If you are looking for the location of our policies, they are on the website - Reports, Policies & Guidelines — Jells Park Primary School
Parents Committee (JPPC) in 2026
The current leaders of the JPPC will not be continuing next year, so I am looking for expressions of interest in being the Chair of the JPPC (Parent Committee). This is a vital role, not only in providing some fundraising events, but also conducting community events that help build and maintain the wondersul culture here at Jells Park. Please contact me if you are interested.
Additionally I would like to hear from anyone interested in boosting our cultural inclusion and understanding by conducting cultural celebrations in the school (eg: Chinese New Year, Diwali, etc). These are wonderful opportunities to celebrate our diverse cultural community, but we need assistance to make it happen.
Important Reminders / notes:
Water Mains Works: I need to advise the community that we will be having significant works being done to repair a damaged section of the Fire Hydrant Water Mains from Wednesday 5 Nov to Saturday 8 Nov. There is a significant leak in the pipes from the mains on Homestead Drive (next to the car park entrance) to the junction box (in front of the PA room) - this is about 15m worth of pipes that all sits under concrete and a garden bed.
This will all need to be ripped up, repaired and replaced. There will be at least a weeks' worth of disruption to the entrance off Homestead Drive - please use the Petronella gate entries.
Parent Requests for Class Placements in 2026: Please note that we do not accept parent requests for class placements. Students will be filling out their 'Friendship Flowers' which guides us with class groupings, along with academic needs, social dynamics and learning styles—to ensure that each student is placed in a classroom environment that fosters both personal and educational growth. We endeavour to ensure that each student has at least on friend in their class next year.
Are you Leaving??
At this time of the year there are always some families that are looking at alternative schooling, working and living arrangements. For whatever reason, if you are leaving the school please let us know ASAP. We always have high interest from people wanting to enrol in our school, so the sooner we know of any departures the sooner we can offer spots for 2026.

Principal
