Dear Families
This week we welcomed guest presenters Daniel Principe and Emma Tabacaru, who worked with our students on navigating relationships, identity and the pressures young people face in a digital world. Daniel spoke with the boys about respectful masculinity, navigating online influences, and making values-based choices. Emma met with the girls to explore body image, self-worth and the challenges of growing up in an online culture, offering practical strategies for confidence and wellbeing. Their sessions were engaging, relevant and delivered with warmth and clarity, giving our students valuable tools to make positive choices. I personally received a lot of positive feedback from students about these sessions. Thank you to the parents who got along to the parent session.
This term is always a busy one, with camps, senior exams, assessments, excursions and preparations for our end-of-year activities. Christmas is already approaching. Throughout the term we have also been meeting prospective students for the 2027 Year 7 intake. It is a joy to meet these young people and hear their reasons for choosing MacKillop. We are experiencing the strongest demand in the history of the College, both a blessing and a challenge. Next week, we will welcome our Year 7 2026 students for their orientation, and we are very much looking forward to meeting them.
Apologies in advance for the disruption around the College in the next few weeks, as we replace our demountables with new classrooms for the 2026 school year.
