Message from the Principal

St Anthony’s Parish and St Anthony’s School hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as central and fundamental responsibilities of the Church.

St Anthony’s is fully compliant with all policies in relation to Child Safety. These documents ensure compliance with the Victorian Government Child Safety Standards which took effect on 1 January 2017 and reflect our Parish's ongoing commitment to ensuring that all children are safe, happy and empowered.

Dear Families and Friends,

Welcome to 2026! Did you know that our Preps this year will be graduates in from Secondary School in 2038. It's truly hard to believe!

It has been so wonderful to welcome all students, families and staff back to school. Seeing everyone's smiling face ready and eager to learn has filled all of us with joy for the year ahead.

Over the holidays the builders have been busy working on our renovations. They finishe the demolition of the old bathrooms and have now completed the concrete and plumbing for the new bathrooms. Concrete slabs have also been completed for our new sheds and our kitchen classroom. Over the next few weeks you will see the frames for the buildings going up.

In order to maintain Child Safety and good security practices we are making a couple of small changes to some school routines.

Entrance to our school office.

From 9.10am to 3.10pm the front gate will be closed and the front door to the office locked. To enter the school, you must press the doorbell on the front fence, you can then enter the gate. A staff member will then unlock the front door for you.

After school use of the Playground

We love that our students love our school playgrounds. However, they must not be in the playground without an adult. The school does not provide supervision after 3.20pm for the playground. Those who stay to play after school must leave the playground by 3.45pm and exit through the school office. The office doors will be locked from 3.45pm as teachers and staff have meetings to attend.

For child safety and security reasons parents and children are not permitted to exit via before/after school care.

If you need supervision after 3.30pm please book for after school care.

Crossing

It has been so wonderful to see so many families using the school crossings. This is the safest way for children to cross Buckley St & Alfred St. Thank you.

School carpark

On occasions our school carpark gets very full. We ask that cars do not double park, do not block Buckley St or the bus stop. If our carpark is full, please park in another street in a safe position. To avoid the congestion, we suggest using the kiss and go area on Alfred St.  on Alfred St.
