Our Vision

Each child has a gift or talent. It is our job to find it and to show it to them.

Our Mission

Identify the talent, develop the confidence and create the leader.

What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is truly wonderful to be back at work after my extended leave. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to return to such a vibrant, dedicated and caring school community. Thank you to our staff, students and families for the warm welcome back. Le Page Primary School continues to be a place where every child is known, valued and supported to thrive, and it has been fantastic to see this in action over the past few weeks.

Parent-Teacher Meet and Greet

Our recent Parent–Teacher Meet and Greet sessions were a great success. These meetings provided a valuable opportunity for parents to share important information about their children, including strengths, interests and goals. They also allowed teachers and families to begin building strong, positive relationships early in the year. When home and schoolwork together with a shared understanding, our students are the greatest beneficiaries. Thank you to all families who attended and contributed so thoughtfully to these conversations.

7 Habits Classrooms Taking Shape

It has been inspiring to walk through classrooms and see The Leader in Me and the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People embedded so clearly in our learning environments.

Across the school you will see:

  • 7 Habits wall displays supporting a shared language of leadership
  • Personal and collective mission statements developed by students
  • Wildly Important Goals (WIGs) displayed alongside tracking charts so students can monitor their progress
  • Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness (G.E.M.) boards and other emotional “bucket-filling” strategies
  • Student leadership roles within each classroom
  • “I am a leader in…” statements proudly displayed, empowering students to recognise their strengths and contributions

These visible elements reflect our commitment to developing confident, capable and compassionate leaders.

Cognitive Load Reduction

It is also very pleasing to see our cognitive load reduction measures evident in every classroom. Thoughtfully organised spaces, purposeful displays and intentional classroom design are creating calm, structured environments that are highly conducive to focused teaching and learning. When distractions are minimised and expectations are clear, students are better able to concentrate, engage deeply and achieve their personal best.

Sandpit Maintenance

Please note that the sandpit area has been fenced off temporarily for maintenance. We appreciate your understanding as we complete this work to ensure the area remains safe and enjoyable for our students.

Picnic and Movie Night

A big thank you to our Fundraising and Social (Parent) Committee for organising last Friday’s picnic and movie night. It was a wonderful evening that brought families together in a relaxed and fun setting. Events like this strengthen our sense of community and connection, which is such an important part of school life at Le Page.

Student Attendance Everyday Counts

Regular attendance is one of the most significant factors in student success.

Being on time and attending school consistently ensures that students do not miss important instruction, discussions and social learning opportunities. Even small amounts of absence can quickly add up:

  • 2 days absent per month = approximately 20 days per year
  • Over primary school, this can equate to almost a full year of missed learning.

While we understand that illness and unavoidable circumstances occur, we encourage families to prioritise school attendance wherever possible. Arriving on time and attending every day sets students up for strong academic growth, positive wellbeing and a sense of belonging.

Student Lighthouse Team Semester 1

At assembly today, we proudly acknowledged our newly elected Student Lighthouse Team for Semester 1. Each member was presented with their leadership badge in front of their peers. These students play an important role in leading school-wide initiatives, representing student voice and modelling the 7 Habits in action.

Congratulations to all elected students. We look forward to seeing their leadership shine this semester.

Farewell Julie Taylor

As we farewell Julie Taylor, I would like to sincerely thank her for her outstanding effort and dedication to Le Page Primary School. Julie has made a significant contribution to our students and staff in her roles as both a tutor and classroom teacher. Her calm and caring approach, professionalism, and commitment to supporting student growth has been greatly valued across our school community. Julie consistently worked to bring out the best in every child, helping them build confidence and achieve success. On behalf of the entire Le Page community, I wish Julie all the very best for a happy and prosperous future. She will be greatly missed.

A 7 Habits Focus for Term 1

As we move through Term 1, our focus is on Habit 1: Be Proactive and Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind. We encourage our students to take responsibility for their choices, set meaningful goals and take small, consistent steps toward achieving them. When students understand that they are in charge of their actions and attitudes, powerful growth occurs.

At Le Page, we continue to: Identify the talent, develop the confidence, and create the leader in every student. I look forward to a wonderful Term 1 filled with learning, leadership and growth.

Warm regards,

George Danson
