First Nations Education
Year 7 Welcome Breakfast
Year 7 First Nations students attended the cultural roll call group to experience what the roll group does. Morning tea was provided and we had a yarn with the current roll call students about what goes on. All Year 7 students were provided with a permission note to join the roll call group. This permission note needs to be returned to Ms Cross in the PDHPE Staffroom if students wish to join.
Personalised Learning Pathways
Ms Wallace and Ms Cross are working with all the First Nations students to develop their individual Personalised Learning Pathway. These Pathways allow students to set goals and identify strategies to support them in achieving the goals. Parents are emailed a copy of the PLP to add in suggestions, sign and return to the school. Parents are also provided with a Parent PLP form to complete and return. All teachers are given access to the completed PLP’s and Parent PLP forms. This allows teachers to further support the students in their class. A big thank you to those who have already completed and returned the information.
UWS Pathways to Dreaming
Tania from UWS Pathways to Dreaming came out and had a yarn with the students. Yr 7 and 8 discussed respect and what respect looks like. Year 9 and 10 yarned about leadership opportunities and the possibility of a student-led initiative that could be implemented. Look out for something on the horizon!! Students in Year 11 and 12 participated in individual mentor sessions. A big thank you to Tania and UWS for their support.
