Senior Boys Cricket

On 12 February, the Senior Boys Cricket played against St Augustine's in a T20 match. In very hot conditions, Kyabram P-12 batted first and made a score of 67 runs. The game drew and finished in a super over. Josh F hit the winning 4 runs for Kyabram.

The Senior boys proceeded onto the next stage which was held in Nathalia.

The Kyabram P-12 College First XI found themselves at the Campaspe Secondary schools cricket finals with a berth in the district finals in Bendigo up for grabs. With a perfect day and a flat pitch freshly rolled, Kyabram was forced to field as St Marys first XI won the toss and elected to bat.

Harteaj and cousin Baltej S, combined well as opening bowlers and had five wickets between them with a stunning runout orchestrated by Harteaj. With a final score of 91 by St Marys, the Kyabram boys decided that it was a good total on such a fast wicket.

Luke T took a battering as the opener and stood steadfast in his innings for two runs off five overs. Well done Luke.

Josh F, who had a job to do, swung wildly for his 8 runs to put fear into the opposition but sadly threw his wicket away.

Things looked grim until Captain Shaun Doolan steadied the ship and had the Kyabram boys in a position to win with his valuable 29 runs, outstanding Shaun.

Baltej and Nicholas J took the team to within 11 runs but St Marys won the match and proceeded to the Bendigo finals.

Well done to all of the staff who have supported cricket at Kyabram P-12 College, with our new pitches and renewed interest in cricket it won’t be long before we have silverware in our trophy cabinet.

Swimming Year 3 - 12 Carnival

The swimming sports were held at Kyabram Pool on February 16. This year saw the introduction of Years 3-12 at the carnival. Community spirit was highlighted throughout the day, as our senior students facilitated events and supported our younger students in and out of the water. A highlight of the day - participation was at an all-time high both in the pool and in the land-based activities.

The winning house was Allan followed by Pine Grove and Castles.

Campaspe Swimming - Echuca

Our Year 7-12 students were exceptional in representing our college at the Campaspe Swimming Carnival in Echuca on Tuesday 27 February. Their efforts in the pool were well rewarded with many bringing ribbons home, but also their representation out of the pool is to be commended, with all students encouraging each other, supporting participation of their peers and proud to be the loudest cheerers poolside.

Special mention to Charlie C who received 16&U Age Champion. Well done to all involved!
