What door do I need to open?
I like to have a fresh focus each year. This year is about opening doors, discovering what feelings are behind those doors, and working through them towards a better outlook on life. I have created a poster to use – ‘WHAT DOOR DO YOU NEED TO OPEN?’, and a worksheet, ‘What’s behind the ……… door?’ I have included the worksheet below. These resources are to help students to discover areas of their life experience that are perhaps holding them back, and stopping them from flourishing as they can.
The categories are: grief and loss, fear, loneliness, sadness, regret, jealousy, negativity, injustice, depressed, excluded, hate, victim, unloved, tormented, weak, offended, broken, panic, and other [for anything else].
We all have times when we are dealing with certain issues that seem beyond our control. At some stage we need to explore how to process them and move on with life. We can do this best when we are in a safe place, with safe people. I aim to be that safe space for students at GRPS. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact me.
