KLA Feature - TAS

A time of renewal in the TAS area

At the end of 2023, demolition of the old Hospitality Kitchen, store rooms and the textiles classrooms on the upper floor of the TAS block commenced.

At last the dust has settled and a new larger Hospitality kitchen has emerged.  The handover should be in the coming week and staff are frantically organising to set up and equip both the New 'state of the art' hospitality kitchen, along with the upgraded  Textiles rooms.  Very soon our students will be learning new competencies and skills in this contemporary style kitchen and accompanying cafe where they will gain important skills in serving food and beverages.

In the transition period, the Year 12 Hospitality students travelled to Haymarket on Tuesday 13 February to complete a one day Australian Barista course in preparation for our 50th Celebration events planned for this year. Meanwhile, our junior Food Technology students have been active in refining their culinary skills in the Junior Kitchen.

Excitement is high as the students get glimpses of the changes that have been wrought to improve their learning outcomes.
