Partnerships and Pathways
Our Lunch and Learn Careers Guest Speaker series has taken off for 2024 with an informative presentation on Multiplex’s innovative Jump Start Program - showing young women in high school what it’s really like to work in construction and the diverse range of rewarding careers on offer, from project management to trades. The Western Sydney International Airport will once again be the centrepoint of the program featuring site walks, mentoring sessions, interactive workshops, panel discussions and more. This week some of our senior students journeyed to WSU’s Parramatta South campus for the latest event in the Year 12 Fast Forward calendar. The Year 12 Conference was a valuable and timely opportunity for students to engage with WSU staff and industry professionals through a series of informative and interactive sessions, which focused on enhancing their knowledge of career choices and areas of study. Thanks to our partners Multiplex and WSU for these incredibly valuable opportunities once again this year.
Our College has partnered with two outstanding organisations, to support our delivery of a high-quality pathways and careers education program from Year 7 through to Year 12: Study Work Grow (Ponder) and Beyond. Their tools, resources and activities will enable your daughter to develop her awareness of the world of work, articulate her interests, motivations and strengths and identify how these help inform and create an exciting and fulfilling future pathway. Not only will these providers complement our existing Wellbeing lessons, they will support the achievement of our goal to develop a post school pathway plan for each graduating Year 12 student. Both programs are free and are accessible via the Careers Canvas page - our school's ‘one-stop-shop’ for all things pathways and careers. Your daughter may have received an email recently from Beyond - but there is no need for her to enrol via that link just yet. We will walk students through this process in homeroom, later this term.
