Compass Notifications
To further develop and strengthen our focus of learning in partnership with our parent community, Compass notifications will be sent to both student and parent in the event of if a student has forgotten their college diary or not completed their learning preparation. We hope these reminders serve as a way for our parent community to be able to engage in dialogue with their daughter in relation to both their organisation of their learning and to their learning preparation.
In addition, for our Year 10 - 12 students we have implemented a SUP (Statement of Unsatisfactory Performance) Letter. This SUP Letter is to assist you and your daughter in understanding the importance of her current application and effort in undertaking the course requirements of the senior stage of learning. The aim of this letter is to point out a concern with respect to one or more of the following areas:
- Attendance
- Application and effort to attain course outcomes
- Non-completion of learning tasks, homework and or assessment work.
This is based on the NESA Assessment Certification Examination (ACE) requirements for students studying Years 10-12. This states that students must attend school firstly, and secondly must demonstrate diligence and sustained effort in each course to achieve course outcomes successfully.
The letter will be provided as a final warning and opportunity to improve in the above areas listed. If no improvement is displayed then a N Warning letter will be issued. Please note in cases where students are required to submit a formal assessment task and fail to do so this will still result in a N warning letter as per NESA requirements. We hope by I introducing this letter it will allow for both family and student the opportunity to rectify concerns prior to an official N warning letter being issued.
