Eureka Swimming

On Tuesday the 5th of March, students set out to represent Beaufort Secondary College in the Eureka level Swimming Carnival. The day started out cool but didn't take long to heat up, with 21 students taking on the conditions to try to progress to the Greater Western Region (GWR) level for swimming.

Tom Lyons was the first to achieve victory, alongside Janet Sturgeon and Andrew Campbell Shield winner, Evalyn Hayward. Billy Welsh performed exceptionally well in the Backstroke, while Zavier Duff was able to get 1st place in his Freestyle heat. Molly Nicholls and Reagan Fulford accomplished significant results for the 18–20-year-old-girls and three of our Relay teams were able to snag 2nd place against some strong competitors.

Overall, it was a successful a day and it was fantastic to see parents and family members there in support of our students. Special thanks to Josh and Miss Hughes for taking the students, as well as undertaking jobs throughout the day, including timing and ribbon presenting. Thanks also to Eric Wilkinson for assisting with timing and our Sports Coordinator, Mitch Webb, for organising students and assisting with the smooth running of the day. We would like to congratulate all participants for their amazing efforts.

Stay tuned for the official carnival results, including Age Group Champions and overall school results.
