Principal's Patch
Dear Parents
As we reach the end of Term 1, it's with great pleasure that we reflect on the busy and productive term we've had here at Palm Beach SS. With the Easter holidays fast approaching, I wanted to take a moment to celebrate the achievements of our students and express our gratitude for your support and dedication.
This term has been bustling with activities, events, and of course, plenty of learning opportunities. From classroom projects to sports competitions, cultural events to academic achievements, it's been wonderful to see our students thriving in various aspects of school life. We're incredibly proud of each and every one of them for their efforts and accomplishments.
One of the highlights of this term has been witnessing how well our new and returning students have settled in. It's always a joy to see our school community grow and evolve, and we're delighted to see the friendships forming and the positive attitudes towards learning that have been fostered.
As we look forward to the Easter holidays, we hope you have a safe and enjoyable break with your loved ones and take the opportunity to relax and unwind.
We look forward to welcoming all students back on Monday, 18th April, for the start of Term 2. We have exciting plans and opportunities in store and can't wait to continue our journey of learning and growth together.
On behalf of the entire school, have a happy and peaceful Easter holiday.
NAPLAN – Yr. 3 and Yr. 5
Our Yr. 3 and Yr. 5 students have finished their NAPLAN online tests this week. Our students were eager to engage with the online assessments and tried their best. Students completed tests in the areas of writing, reading, conventions of language and numeracy. We look forward to reviewing our school and student results later in the year to help us identify the learning needs of our students moving forward.
Yr 4 to Yr 6 Interschool Sports
Interschool sports, Rugby League, Netball, Soccer, AFL, Learn to Surf, Intermediate & Advance Surfing all start first week back, Friday 19 April. Final date for payment is Thursday 11 April.
What is QParents?
QParents is a secure online portal that is free for Queensland State Schools to use, and gives parents at your school quick, easy access to their student information including report cards, payment history, enrolment history, attendance records and student photos.
All of the data parents see is surfaced directly from OneSchool, so there is no additional data entry involved, it's all done for you. Schools control who is invited to access this information and which of the available datasets their parents can see in QParents.
Parents can also use QParents to report future absences, provide reasons for unexplained absences, update student addresses and medical records and pay outstanding invoices.
For more detailed information about the portal itself, feel free to visit the QParents portal online at https://qparents.qld.edu.au External link.
