Please see the latest sport report with important information regarding:
SWIMMING CARNIVAL REVIEW
This year we started DVC sport with the annual House Swimming Carnival. The day was a hit with so many students and teachers getting involved. Here are some of the many highlights from throughout the day!
And of course, the house shield! Congratulations to Bass (Green house) for breaking the Hubbard run and winning the shield for 2024! Congratulations team Bass.
SWIMMING DISTRICT FINALS
Congratulations to the 2023 Diamond Valley Swim Team that represented College at the Nillumbik & Banyule Swimming Finals. We had a lot of success on the day with both individual and team placings. There was some phenomenal swimming on the day across all age groups and we are grateful for the students giving their all on the day.
Extra Special Mention to Jasper Young, Maggie Spriggs, Sienna Beddoe and Maya Watson, Henry Tootell and Ruby Moore. They will all progress through to the Regional Finals, with the hope of gaining a place in the State Championships.
Athletics Carnival 2024 -
On Wednesday 17th April all students and staff will be heading to Willinda Park for the house athletics carnival.
The DVC House “Aths” Carnival allows students to compete in age group track and field events, as well as some novelty events for those that would prefer. Participation is the main focus where students will earn points that accumulate for their allocated house.
On the serious side, students who win or perform at the appropriate level will advance to the Division athletics carnival (Nillumbik/ Banyule) on Thursday 2nd May. This year we are hoping to send our biggest and strongest team and build on the success we had last year.
In addition to the athletic events there are quite a few other activities for the students and staff to get involved in such as our fashions on the field, face painting, dance off’s, grass games or the Chillax zone where students can spend time with their friends.
There are 4 houses: Wilson (yellow/gold), Hubbard (red), Bass (green) and Peers (blue). We encourage students and staff to dress up in their house colours. Each student can see which house they are in by logging on to their Compass page and clicking on their name.
This is a whole school event where all students and teaching staff are required to attend. It’s an enjoyable day and a great way for us all to have some fun, get to know each other a bit better and develop our school culture.
This year, as there is no canteen running again, we have a number of food trucks joining us again for students and staff to access. Stay tuned for truck details!
Finally, Each student requires consent to be off school grounds. This can be done online through your Compass account. If you have any questions regarding consent or payment, please contact the General Office on 9438 1411.
Can’t wait to see everyone there!!
