Pauline Toner Award Evening

As part of the celebration of International Women’s Day, Vicki Ward MP for Eltham held a Celebration evening for Award nominees from our local network of schools to acknowledge and celebrate this prestigious award.

Now in its 8th year, the annual prize not only recognises the achievements of local young women active in the areas of social justice, the environment and/or gender equality, but also remembers the achievements of the Hon. Pauline Toner, the first female Victorian State Government Minister, the first female state member for Greensborough and the first female Mayor and Councillor for Diamond Valley.

Our nominee representing Diamond Valley College was Chloe Shaw in Year 11. Chloe was nominated for her work with the St. Andrews Wildlife Shelter which included an environmental project she completed as part of this placement. She is also actively involved in environmental activities through Ellis Cottage in Wattle Glen and uses her voice to call for change on social justice and environmental issues.  Chloe has been an active member of the SRC, is a Kwong Lee Dow Scholarship recipient  and has contributed to International Women’s Day and Remembrance day.

Congratulations to Chloe for being our Nominee representing Diamond Valley College for 2024
