SRC News

The Glen Eira College Student Representative Council (GEC SRC) is very excited to welcome all GEC students to the 2024 academic year. We wish all students well for achieving their goals this year and are here to support students to have their voice heard.

Upcoming events include International Women's Day on 8th March and Cultural Diversity week from the 18th-24th March 2024. To celebrate our cultural diversity, the SRC will be running events in collaboration with the BOCI committee and Library Monitors. On 21st March, GEC will celebrate Harmony Day with a casual dress day. Students will be encouraged to wear their cultures' traditional clothes or to dress up in the colours of their countries' flags. Funds raised (from gold coins) will be donated to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC).

I am proud to announce the following students were successfully appointed to SRC leadership positions for this year. Congratulations to these students. The SRC and student body are in safe hands with these outstanding student leaders:

Presidents: Milja Lin and Pranit Praveen

Vice President: Gaby Duieb

Secretary: Shambhavi Samal

Publicity Officers: Monako Bernabe and Estelle Lebeau

Please note that the SRC meets regularly and is happy to hear any ideas or concerns. If you wish to contribute, GEC students are encouraged to contact any members of your SRC.
