SAPOL Crossing Training

Congratulations to our year 5 and 6 students who participated in a training session facilitated by SAPOL recently to become school crossing monitors. We are very fortunate to have a strong team of over 130 students step up to perform this vital community service with the support of our staff.

Look out for our monitors who will work in teams of 3 before school from 8:30 am until 8:50 am and after school from 3:10 pm until 3:30 pm. A big thank you to our monitors and their families for their commitment to arriving at school early and staying late to support this service.

We participated in the GPS Crossing Training for year 5/6s out the front of the Resource Centre on the 7th of February 2024. We all did a wonderful job of sitting quietly and patiently while excited inside that we might become crossing monitors.

We were thrilled to learn how to be a good crossing monitor and help out the school. We learnt that you have to get trained every year if you want to be a monitor again. We all showed respect to our instructor, Nick and listened closely.

We achieved the ability to be a crossing leader and do crossing each term for two weeks. We will have three students at a time doing crossing; two students on the lollipop (stop sign), one student on the whistle and a staff member to supervise us.

We would like to thank Nick from SAPOL for training all of the year 5/6 students on how to be crossing leaders in 2024.

We look forward to helping keep everyone safe at the school crossing this year.
