Ryans Rd and Wattletree Rd Intersection Upgrade

Please see below project update regarding the Ryans Road and Wattletree Road intersection upgrade.

We’re upgrading the intersection of Ryans Road and Wattletree Road in Eltham North to improve safety and pedestrian access to bus stops and schools.

From Monday 4 March to Monday 18 March, crews will work both day shift and night shift. Crews will work during the day between 9:30am and 3:30pm to complete works that are off the road. Crews will return for night shift between 8:00pm and 5:00pm to complete works on the road.

From Monday 18 March to mid-2024, works will be completed during the day with no night works expected to be scheduled. Please note, these dates and times are subject to favourable weather conditions. No works will take place on public holidays.

During day works, you can expect:

  • A reduced speed limit of 40km/h to keep crews safe.
  • No lane closures on Ryans Road and Wattletree Road.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.

During night works, you can expect:

  • Lane closures on Ryans Road and Wattletree Road with traffic management controllers directing drivers.
  • A reduced 40km/h speed limit to keep crews safe.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.
  • Low to medium levels of noise. We’ll complete the noisiest works as early in the evening as possible. Crews use modern equipment to reduce noise, however the works will unavoidably emit some noise and light. For the safety of road users and workers on site, reversing beepers are a requirement on all machinery.
  • Driveway access will be maintained, however there may be times where traffic management controllers need to safely direct drivers in and out of properties.

Temporary bus stop closure

The northbound bus stop at Ryans Road/Parry Road will be temporarily closed during works. For more information, please visit ptv.vic.gov.au

For more information, you can visit the VicRoads website: https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/planning-and-projects/melbourne-road-projects/ryans-road-and-wattletree-road-intersection-upgrade-eltham-north

Please reach out via return email if you have any questions about the works.

Kind regards
