Primary News

Primary Playground

We are excited to see that the Primary Playground construction is underway. You will note the tall fences that have been placed around the perimeter of the construction zone to keep all our students and community safe. We respectfully request that visitors on campus before or after school, do not climb over the fences on Leopard Terrace. We are reiterating to students every day the importance of staying safe outside of the construction zone and require all in our community to model the same behaviour. Our Maintenance Team will be placing further fencing at the bottom of the structures, as we understand balls are rolling under whilst students are playing handball.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

NAPLAN Preparation and Testing

The readiness test completed on Tuesday went well for our students in Years 3 and 5, as they familiarised themselves with the testing platform. Please talk to your child about their experience of the tests and let their form teacher know if you are concerned.

Testing will occur on Wednesday 13, Thursday 14 and Friday 15 March during lessons 1 and 2 and/or 3 and 4. Please make sure that your child has working WIRED HEADPHONES and a fully charged device for each of these days. Please also encourage them to eat a good breakfast, drink plenty of water and have a good night's sleep beforehand. We advise you not to listen to radio news broadcasts on the morning of testing and arrive at school in plenty of time.

Dogs on School Premises

Whilst we love our furry friends, please be advised dogs are not permitted on school grounds.

Pre-Prep - Year 12 Harmony Day

Harmony Day Assembly is fast approaching! We have a 'Parade of Nations', during which students from their different cultural backgrounds parade through the Assembly in national dress or carry a flag from their country of origin.

Primary Languages

We are pleased that we can offer students a language choice of Mandarin or Spanish to study.

For your information, the following outline of the languages subject structure is provided:

  • Pre-Prep and Prep: An introduction to Spanish, taught in both Semester 1 and Semester 2
  • Year 1: Both Mandarin and Spanish taught to Year 1 students in alternate Semesters. Eg. Semester 1: Class 1A Spanish, Class 1B Chinese/Semester 2: Class 1A Chinese, Class 1B Spanish
  • Year 2 - 6: Each year, at the start of Term 4, new students from Years 2 - 6 and current Year 1 and *Year 5 students are requested to select their language choice for the following year. Students may choose to study either Mandarin or Spanish. Students will continue with their chosen language for Year 2 through to the end of Year 5.

*At the end of Year 5, current students may continue with their chosen language in Year 6 or change to the other available language offering (Mandarin or Spanish).

This process is started at the end of each year to assist the College with its planning and staffing for the new school year. For this reason, change of mind once the new school year has commenced is not generally permitted.

Should you have any questions regarding this process, please do not hesitate to direct your questions to:
