We're incredibly excited to kick off the new term with such a fantastic event. It's events like these that truly reflect the community spirit of our school. 2024 Year 6 Student Leaders

During last Friday's assembly, our 2024 Year 6 Student Leaders were presented with their leadership badges. These students have already demonstrated a strong commitment to their roles and are exhibiting exceptional leadership potential. I look forward to working with them this year and watching them continue to flourish as our School and House Captains.

NAPLAN 2024

NAPLAN is an annual National Literacy and Numeracy assessment sat by students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9. It is the only national assessment all Australian students have the opportunity to undertake. This year NAPLAN testing will take place in Term 1 commencing on Wednesday 13 March and concluding on Monday 25 March. Our testing schedule will be released soon. Key NAPLAN dates and a breakdown of the testing timetable are available to be viewed here

For further information regarding NAPLAN 2024, please access the PDF below, or contact your child's classroom teacher.

Kiss and Go

We are committed to ensuring the safety and efficiency of our school drop-off and pick-up procedures. With this in mind, please follow the 'Kiss and Go' zone 2-minute time limits on both Coolac and Silver St.  These zones are designed to facilitate quick drop-offs in the morning and efficient pick-ups in the afternoon.  Your cooperation in following the guidelines in these zones will help us maintain a smooth flow of traffic and keep our students safe.  The council has advised us of 'spot-check' visits to ensure adherence to the 'Kiss and Go' limits.

Access to Buildings

We are experiencing a high volume of students accessing the school buildings before school, in particular the main building. Students are not permitted to enter the school buildings before school and will enter when collected by their teachers at 9.00am. This will reduce the foot traffic and congestion around the office area. Parents are of course welcome to access the office from 8.40am.

Getting to Know You Meetings

A reminder that the 'Getting to Know You' parent/carer and teacher meetings will commence on Tuesday of next week. This is an opportunity for parents to provide teachers with the necessary information to best support their child, and to also develop a connection with their child's teacher.

These meetings will be offered on the following dates:

Tuesday 20 February - 3.40-4.40pm

Thursday 22 February - 3.40-4.40pm

Tuesday 27 February - 3.40-4.40pm

Wednesday 28 March - 3.40-4.40pm

Have a wonderful weekend!

Regards,

Robert Ridgway
