Kinder Open Day

Our Kindergarten Open Day was a huge success! Families from our current playgroups, enrolled children, and NBC partners all joined in the fun. The children enjoyed engaging in play-based learning activities that sparked their creativity, were visited by Zoe from Corio Library, who shared exciting stories that kept everyone entertained and Jo from ‘Hey Dee Ho’ enjoyed singing with the children.

We also want to thank Kardinia Rotary for their support in making sure all our visitors were well-fed with a delicious barbecue. It was a fantastic opportunity for families to connect, explore what we offer, and enjoy a fun day together!

Zones Of Regulation

At the start of Term 3, the Educators at Northern Bay College Early Learning Centre joined a training session on the Zones of Regulation, led by Nathan Brock, the College Well Being lead. The Kurrman Class (Kindergarten 4) has begun learning about this concept by exploring the four colours—red, blue, green, and yellow—and connecting them to different emotions. The children are starting to understand how these colours can help them recognise and talk about their feelings, making it easier for them to manage their emotions in a supportive and caring way.

When exploring what different emotions looked like, Elise had shared that she wanted to demonstrate what ‘ready to learn’ looked like.

When Araya shared what she had created in this image, she had said “I was drawing the pictures – sadness, angry, I can’t remember this one… I think this one was tricky things, and happy!”

Goodbye Vivian! 

Our Kindergarten children said goodbye to their teacher Vivian who has been teaching at our Early Learning Centre for 8 years! Vivian has had such a huge impact on many children and staff over the past 8 year and will be missed by many!
