We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People of the Kulin nation; past, present and those who will walk with us into the future.
We acknowledge the rich and unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas, educational practices and the hopes of all First Nations Peoples. We do this in the spirit of reconciliation as we move to a place of justice and partnership - together we work, learn, play and care for one another and this land.
I am very proud to say that the Council of elders at Reconciliation Australia has approved our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and it has now been published.
Kalinda's RAP is a formal commitment to reconciliation. It documents how our school will strengthen relationships, respect and opportunities in the classroom, around the school/service and with the community.
Please take the time to have a look through the RAP. Some of the actions have already been completed, some are underway and others will be actioned throughout the next few year.
Thank you so much to the past and current members of our Reconciliation Action Plan Working Party for the time, effort and passion you have put in to this work. If you are interested in being involved in this work, please feel free to reach out and contact us.
Parent-teacher interviews will be held on the first day of Term 4 (Monday 7th October). The interviews provide an opportunity for a mid-semester update on the academic and wellbeing progress of students.
To facilitate the interviews, it will be a student-free day. Theircare will provide full day care on this day.
Booking information for the interviews will be sent out later this term.
Please see the P&F page for information about our upcoming school disco. Thank you so much to members of our P&F for organising this fun event for students.
We are really looking forward to Megumi returning to Kalinda in Term 4. We have some host families already organised (thank you so much), and are asking if there are any other families available to host Megumi between the start of Novemeber and mid-December.
If you are interested in doing so, please contact White sensei via email: jessica.white@education.vic.gov.au
We are putting a call out to anyone who would like to volunteer in the canteen to assist our canteen manager, Rachel. This would be particularly helpful on a Friday as it is the busiest day. If interested, please contact the school via email kalinda.ps@education.vic.gov.au
Please note that the Canteen will be closed in the last few weeks of term. Orders close on Tuesday 3rd September and we are looking forward to Rachel's delicious menu returning in Term 4.
We are kind. We are resilient. We are respectful.
