Grade 1 Report

Before our Book Week 2024 celebrations the Junior School were lucky enough to be part of an outstanding performance from Meerkat productions.

This year’s Book Week theme is ‘Reading is Magic’ and the Grade Preps and Ones were certainly transported into a story where time is very precious. ‘There is never enough of it’, ‘we lose track of it’ and ‘time flies’ were some of the themes throughout the performance.

Fortunately Emit (time spelt backwards), whose parents turned back time to name him, is able to remind those around him about how precious time is.

This engaging and lively performance reminded students of the importance of stepping back and appreciating the little things in life that cost nothing at all. Each Grade One student drew a picture of something that made them happy without costing anything and drew it in a jar.

Some of these were:

‘Watching the stars’ Penelope

‘Me and my family watching the sunset’ Rosie

‘Spending time with my boss/Mr McKenzie’ Elessia

‘Going home to see my family’ Joshua

‘Running’ James

‘Hanging with my family’ Maya Lo

‘Playing footy with Dad’ Ari
