Out and About

SACSA Basketball Tournament

Throughout Week 2, Endeavour proudly sent six basketball teams to compete in the SACSA Basketball Tournament. The Year 7/8 Boys’ and Girls’ teams were the first to showcase their talent. Our Year 7/8 Boys' Gold team delivered an impressive performance, finishing in 4th place, narrowly missing the grand final by just 2 points. The Silver team also made us proud, finishing 9th, the highest placement among all silver teams in the competition.

The Year 7/8 Girls' team showed remarkable improvement throughout the day, ultimately securing 7th place after winning their final two group-stage games.

To close out the week, our Year 9/10 boys’ and girls’ teams took to the courts. The Year 9/10 Boys' Gold team finished 4th, losing their semi-final and bronze medal game by a combined 8 points, narrowly missing a podium finish.

The Silver team placed 3rd in the silver competition, missing the chance to play in the grand final by just 1 point, however, confidently securing the bronze medal.

The Year 9/10 Girls' team overcame a challenging start, finishing 6th after winning their final three games.

We are incredibly proud of all our basketball players and coaches for their hard work and excellent results. The tournament was a fantastic opportunity to showcase and work on our skills. We're looking forward to returning next year.

Pedal Prix: Tailem Bend 8 Hour Race

What a fine day of racing on Saturday, 3 August at Tailem Bend for the 8-hour race. Both pedal prix cars did very well for our racing, with each squad pushing themselves and learning invaluable tips and tricks from our regular training. Lil Ripper came 22nd in our division with 81 Laps total.

Clipper came 43rd in our division with 65 Laps total.

A fantastic result due to the hard work and dedication of the riders, their training and help from all involved. We had two middle years students alike, Matthew Maloney and Eddie Whittle, set Endeavour up with a fantastic start to the race.

We are very much looking forward to the

24-hour race at Murray Bridge in September.

Go Endeavour, Go!

Tindo Solar:

Year 12 Business Innovation Excursion

On Friday 9 August, the two Year 12 Business Innovation classes were fortunate to visit a very successful Australian business, Tindo Solar. The company operates from Mawson Lakes and is a world leader in sustainable renewable energy. They are the only manufacturer of solar panels in Australia and compete with cheaper imported products. They utilise a range of innovative processes, including AI and robotics to produce a high-quality product that is designed for the Australian environment.

The staff at Tindo were extremely welcoming and took students through their very impressive manufacturing plant, explaining each stage of the process. Students were then invited to engage in a Q & A session with one of the business managers. They gained valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities facing Australian businesses today and were able to apply the concepts that they learnt in the classroom to practical scenarios. We are very grateful to the management and staff of Tindo Solar, for offering such a rich learning experience for our senior students.

Drama Excursions, and all that Jazz

The Drama department has been very busy so far this semester. All year levels are working on performances and we have been on two excursions already to the Festival Centre!

The first show we attended was The Questions. This production was a world premiere, an original musical produced by the State Theatre Company of South Australia. The show followed two characters on a first date and showed all the awkward moments that we can all relate to. Then the worst situation possible happened when the two characters had to go into a lockdown together. They had to learn to get along and ask questions to get to know each other.

This show had a realistic set and live music onstage. As Drama students, we took away many characterisation skills and the importance of body language and expression. We also had an incredible opportunity to talk with the director, cast and band after the performance to ask about the production and creative process, something the general public are not lucky enough to have!

The second performance we were able to attend was Chicago the Musical. This is a classic musical and is currently the second longest-running show on Broadway and now touring Australia. Chicago is a jazz musical with unique choreography which is what the show is known for. This performance made us all want to sing and dance, with 'jazz hands'.

The show was a good for us to witness a simple, yet dramatic stage production.

We are so grateful to have the opportunity to be able to see these performances so we can take away elements of each performance to incorporate them into our own performances back at school.

We would like to thank Mr Richards for the opportunity to take us to these wonderful productions.

Finally, we’re thrilled to share some monumental news with you: our upcoming senior production called Momentos Fantasmas is in the works.

This marks an exciting chapter for our Senior Drama students, and we’re eager to bring this original piece of theatre to the stage.

We are in the rehearsal stage working very closely with each other and also our director to block our scenes.

Keep an eye out for ticket information, show dates and times.
