Connected Schools Worship
On Thursday, 8 August Endeavour hosted our annual Connected Schools Worship Service.
This event gives students in Years 4-6 from Golden Grove Lutheran, Good Shepherd Lutheran, and St Paul Lutheran, an opportunity to join with Year 7 students from Endeavour College in worship.
The theme for the day was Stories of Courage, and together we explored stories from scripture, with a focus on Daniel in the Lion's Den, David and Goliath, and Joshua’s challenge to bring Israel into the Promised Land.
Each school brought together a brilliant short skit, combined with scripture and a song of courage. These stories reminded us that we can be courageous by taking action, even when worries are present. With bravery and faith in God and his guidance we learnt we can venture past our comfort zone, and face fears with unwavering resolve. You just never know what having courage can lead to, maybe an enormous achievement once considered 'impossible'.
Students from Endeavour provided an entertaining closing message that invited teachers to share how they have shown courage in their own lives.
Hearing these personal accounts of courage reminded us that courage is needed each and every day, and that courage is not purely an individual emotion. That we too may be a source of strength and courage for others, reflecting God's love and light in our actions.
Much collaboration and teamwork went into the Connected Schools Worship Service.
It took courage, adaptability and creativity to bring a collective vision to life. It also took courage to stand on the stage to perform, sing, read scripture or lead us in prayer. Thank you to all the students involved in the Connected Schools Worship, to all staff in the planning and preparation, and to all who attended.
It was fantastic to come together in fellowship.

Endeavour Way Day:
Year 7
Recently all Year 7 students were provided the opportunity to take part in the Endeavour Way Day. This day was dedicated to deepening students' understanding of the core values that are central to the culture of
Endeavour College: Love, Courage, Forgiveness, and Hope.
Working in half-class groups, students engaged in various activities that allowed them to explore these values more profoundly.
Through circle time, small group discussions, and thought-provoking video clips, our students not only reflected on these values but also practiced how to embody them in their daily lives.
A significant part of the day was devoted to helping students develop the skills needed to manage difficult conversations. Recognising that conflict is a natural part of life, we introduced them to strategies for navigating these challenges and, importantly, identifying when it's necessary to seek adult assistance.
One of the key tools introduced was the traffic light system of seeking help:
- Green Card – Stand Up: Encourages students to confidently handle situations they can manage independently.
- Orange Card – Speak Up: Reminds students to seek advice or intervention if they're uncertain or uncomfortable.
- Red Card – Shout Out: Signals the need to immediately involve an adult when a situation becomes too challenging or unsafe.
The day was filled with opportunities for our students to practice these skills in a supportive environment, reinforcing their confidence in applying them outside the classroom.
We believe Endeavour Way Day was invaluable in continuing to immerse our Year 7 students in the positive and nurturing culture of our school, setting them up for success as they navigate their educational journey at Endeavour College.
We are proud of the progress our students have made and look forward to continuing this journey with them.

Exploring English:
Poetry and Shakespearean Performance
This past week, Endeavour College was abuzz with excitement as our students had the privilege of experiencing not one but two outstanding incursions that brought literature and drama to life in new and inspiring ways.
The first event was a dynamic performance by Poetry in Action, who presented their engaging show, ‘Unlocking the Poetry Code,’ to our Year 7 students. This captivating presentation demystified the sometimes daunting world of poetry, turning it into an accessible and enjoyable experience. Through humour, interactive storytelling, and vivid performances, the students were introduced to the beauty and power of poetic language. The show provided an excellent launch for our Year 7 Poetry Study, a core element in the English curriculum, helping to build the students' confidence in appreciating, analysing, and creating their own poetry.
Later in the week, our Year 11 cohort was treated to a powerful performance by the renowned Bell Shakespeare Company titled ‘The Human Experience.’ This production masterfully explored universal themes of love, ambition, power, and morality through the lens of Shakespeare's timeless works.
The performance resonated deeply with the students, offering them fresh insights into the relevance of Shakespeare's plays to contemporary life and their own personal journeys. By bringing the words of timeless characters from page to stage, the performers illustrated how literature continues to mirror the complexities of human nature across generations. The themes explored in "The Human Experience" aligned perfectly with the English curriculum, deepening the students' understanding of complex literary concepts, human nature, and how these combine in ways that touch us all.
Students described the show as “exhilarating,” “a captivating exploration of the human experience and the emotions that come with it” and “a great way to get us thinking about what being human is all about.”
Both incursions were not only highly entertaining but also deeply educational, reinforcing key aspects of our English programs and enhancing the students' learning experience in meaningful ways.
We look forward to welcoming these talented performers back to Endeavour College in the future.

Senior Solo Music Night
On Thursday the 1st of August the second Senior Solo Night for 2024 was held. We were treated to performances by Music students in both Year 11 and Year 12. These performances included vocals, violin, bass guitar, guitar, and drums. Jummi David’s emotive vocals on ‘Skinny’ by Billie Eilish, Luca Do’s amazing drum solo ‘Just for The Funk of It’, and Thomas Harding’s impressive bass rendition of ‘Summer Vacation’ by Patitucci are just a few of the wonderful performances that occurred on the night.
It was a delight to play in front of a live audience and further develop our musical confidence. We thank everyone who attended to support the senior Music students. A special thanks to Miss Stanley and Mr Wooldridge for being supportive teachers and assessors on the night, Thomas Saunders for his piano accompaniment, Cameron Barrett for filming and lights, and Nicole Molloy for taking photos of the performers throughout the night. We hope to see everyone at the upcoming Centre Stage which will be held later in the term to continue to showcase some amazing musical performances.

Science Week at Endeavour
The theme for Science Week 2024 is Species Survival: More than just Sustainability, and throughout the week the Science faculty have been running a range of activities and competitions to highlight the importance of living sustainably and caring for our planet.
Students have heard a number of interesting Science facts in Care Groups and have engaged with both a Care Group Kahoot and a Middle Years' quiz. Congratulations to Spence South who won the Kahoot, and Mitchell West who won the quiz! Students were also challenged to complete a Scavenger Hunt based around the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, bringing awareness to what we can do to live sustainably and care for planet Earth. Well done to Flynn Hutchinson and Alex Fechner for submitting the best entry! A play list of songs featuring a range of animals was played at lunch time, with Eda Savov from Year 7 correctly identifying the most species mentioned.
The staff were also treated to a themed morning tea and their own Science quiz.
The week culminated with a special Science Week Assembly, in which the Year 12 Chemistry class performed three exciting experiments: The chemical reaction of luminol, colourful flame tests, and the famous ‘elephant’s toothpaste’.
I would like to thank all students who participated in events and activities, the Year 12 Chemistry class for their fantastic and informative presentation, and of course the passionate and hard-working Science Faculty for making Science Week such a success.
