Windows shortcut keys are keyboard combinations that help you perform tasks more quickly and efficiently. By using these shortcuts, you can streamline your workflow, reduce reliance on the mouse, and navigate your computer with greater ease. Here’s a brief overview of some key shortcuts and how they can boost your productivity:
- Windows Key + E: Open File Explorer to instantly browse your files and folders.
- Alt + Tab: Quickly switch between open applications without using the mouse, making multitasking smoother.
- Ctrl + C / Ctrl + V: Copy and paste selected items, speeding up data transfer between applications. Secondly you can use Ctrl + X to cut instead of copy.
- Windows Key + L: Lock your computer to quickly secure it when stepping away.
- Alt + F4: Close the currently active window or application, helping you keep your workspace uncluttered.
- Windows Key + D: Minimise all you open programs and show the desktop
- Windows Key: Open the Start Menu.
- Ctrl + / Ctrl -: Zoom in or out in a webpage, to reset the zoom click Ctrl 0 and the browser will reset to the normal view.
- Ctrl + Z / Ctrl + Y: While in a program Ctrl + Z will undo the last task, you ran redo that undo with the Ctrl + Y.
- Ctrl + Alt + Tab: Display all open apps, you can now use your mouse to click on the window you want to display.
