Tournament of Minds 2024
On Saturday August 17th, 35 VSC students competed in the 2024 ‘Tournament of Minds’ at Deakin University in Burwood.
We had 3 teams enter the STEM challenge and 2 teams compete in the Social Sciences category.
Each team of 7 students had worked together without teacher or parent assistance over a period of 5 weeks to develop a 10-minute presentation in response to a set challenge.
Teams were marked on the creativity of their solution, their ingenuity in overcoming obstacles, their teamwork, presentation skills, and their creation of a 3D model or prototype.
All teams also participated in an unseen ‘spontaneous challenge’ on the day.
All teams successfully completed and presented a solution to their set challenges and should be very proud of the work that they were able to produce in this short time frame.
Congratulations!
