Where is Jesus when I am Angry or Mad?

How do you deal with anger? Anger is a tricky emotion to deal with. It can happen out of our control and take over our whole selves, especially when someone annoys us or things don’t go our way. It can consume us and make us bitter. Thankfully God gives us insights to help us deal with our anger;

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:31-32

God doesn’t want us to be bitter and be so angry that we end up in a rage. And definitely not violent. God wants us to “Get rid of” our bad anger and selfish anger to Jesus Christ. Jesus who knows you, listens to you and is with you can take your anger and replace it with kindness and compassion. And the sooner we hand it over to God and see how much we are forgiven and loved, the better we can be.

So when we feel angry, hand it over to Jesus Christ and ask him for his kindness and compassion. Be slow to get angry and quick to listen. As God does for us. God who loves, forgives and empowers us to be kind and compassionate to others. This doesn’t mean that we’ll never be angry, especially when we see injustice. But thankfully God is available to take our anger and help us.

So talk, shout or scream your anger at God to get rid of it and give the problem to God. You may even like to talk with a trusted and caring person who may help too. And in doing this, may you have peace.
