ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING
- Have students place a small object on their stomachs. As they breathe deeply, they should feel the objects rise and then fall when they exhale. This is the breathing we’re talking about.
- Now give students a paper bag. See if they can use the paper bag to show deep belly breathing. What happens to the bag? Does it fill completely?
- Give students a balloon; ask them to blow up their balloon. See if they can use short quick breaths and then long deep belly breaths. What’s the difference? How do they feel?
