We are learning to write an explanation report that considers that audience and purpose.

VOCABULARY

Purpose: The primary purpose of an explanation text is to clarify how or why something works or happens. It focuses on providing a detailed understanding of a process, mechanism, or phenomenon.

Structure: Typically, an explanation text follows a chronological or logical sequence to explain a process or concept step by step.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Students will write an explanation report about a natural disaster. First, they will choose one natural disaster and research all the important facts about it. Then, they will write an explanation report that explains what the natural disaster is, how it happens, and what effects it has.
