Exciting News!

We have been successful in our application for an Environment Grant from Banyule Council to help fund the creation of our pond ecosystem. So it’s full steam ahead with the project. Keep an eye on the atrium area of the Discovery Centre as we transform this space into what we hope will become a thriving and biodiverse ecosystem.

National Science Week

Last week was National Science Week and our year 5/6 students participated in an interesting ‘Careers in Science’ session. We had some fascinating speakers, from wihtin out own school community, and the students asked some excellent questions. We are hoping to continue this initiative every year during science week so would love to hear from parents who work in science related fields.

Foundation Students

The theme for this year's Science Week was ‘Species Survival’ and Foundation students made real world connections to this topic through an investigation into caterpillars. They considered the importance of caterpillars in our environment and went on a caterpillar hunt.

Year 1 & 2 Students

As part of engaging with the theme of Science Week, year 1 & 2 students considered things humans can do to help species survival and biodiversity in Australia. They considered the many harmful things humans do and then thought about how they could turn it around. It is clear there are many environmental stewards among them.
