Leadership Camp

As an SRC Leader I was grateful I received the opportunity to participate in the leadership camp at Phillip Island Adventure Resort on the 6th to the 8th of December. On this camp, I was able to connect with peers in activities like the Giant Swing and Canoeing, while meeting more people along the journey. I learnt throughout this camp that I was able to use my leadership skills to my full ability and collaborate with peers surrounding me for the three days we stayed.

What really made the camp outstanding for me was the night all students decided to participate in karaoke around the campfire! This allowed me to build friendships with those attending while leaving a smile on my face during the entire night. As I built relationship with those around me, I developed more leadership skills which made me feel more comfortable and much more confident.

The meetings and activities at the camp also allowed me to overcome my fear of socialising and communicating with new people, but this allowed me to use my voice to be open and collaborative with my ideas using it to an advantage. Overall, this experience for leadership camp was a great opportunity for many and allowed many peers to express themselves too. I made plenty of memories to cherish and this camp left a huge smile on my face.
