River Gum Superstars!

Over the past few terms, there has been some cross-school collaboration that took place between HP Maths classes and River Gum Maths students.

Our Hampton Park Maths classes welcomed a group of exceptional Grade 6 students from River Gum, demonstrating abilities that surpassed the expected level. These talented young students joined our Year 7 core and extension classes, even delving into Year 9 advanced classes. It was a remarkable opportunity for the River Gum Grade 6 students to explore the challenging extension maths curriculum offered at Hampton Park.

The collaborative experience not only enriched the Grade 6 students but also allowed our Year 7 and Year 8 students to showcase the engaging and enriching activities that are a hallmark of our mathematics classes. This exchange of knowledge created a dynamic learning environment, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among our students and between the two schools.

As we bid farewell to the Year 7 classes for this academic year, our Grade 6 visitors came to Hampton Park Secondary College to celebrate the success of the program. The grade 6 students also used this morning tea to express their appreciation to the dedicated teachers and tutors who made this initiative possible.

A special thanks to Ms. Murdoch for her outstanding organizational skills, ensuring the smooth execution of the program. The success of the collaboration owes much to the commitment and expertise of our teachers, including Ms Podsytnik, Ms Fernando, Ms Murdoch, and Leon Lay - Math tutor.

We look forward to more collaborative initiatives that promote a love for Maths and academic excellence within our Hampton Park Secondary College community.
