Japanese

Minasan Konnichiwa! (Hello everyone.)

Welcome to 2024 Japanese!

Year 3-6

We had a good start to our Japanese program!

Students quickly tuned back into Japanese and greeted and sang some songs such as ohayō (greetings), body parts, big and small objects and animals in Japanese. We talked about New Year's celebrations in Japan and their traditions. Please ask your child their zodiac according to the year they were born.

2024 is the year of dragon-tatsu.

Year 1/2

Year 1/2 students had a smooth start into the 2024 Japanese program. It was wonderful to see everyone's smile and their confidence while speaking in Japanese.

They greeted me in Japanese and sang some songs such as "Ohayō", Nezumi (mouse)" and "Kobuta (animal song)" altogether. We talked about Japanese New Year's celebrations -oshōgatsu. This year is the year of dragon and our first writing of the year was "tatsu", meaning dragon in Japanese. Please have a look at your child's writing and colouring. They looked fantastic!

Working on the colouring sheet of TATSU

Foundation students didn't have Japanese due to mass in Week 1.

I'm looking forward to meeting all the Foundation students on Thursday.

Have a great week!
