Year 5/6 Report

We’re thrilled to share some exciting updates and upcoming events that will surely add a splash of colour and joy to the end of the school year.

Hopefully your children enjoyed the Colour Run and made lasting memories. In total, students at Aberfeldie raised over $28,000. Well done to all.

During our literacy blocks we have focused on biographies and we have committed to enhancing your child’s education with a focus on visual literacy. We have been engaging in activities planned to foster a deeper understanding of visual elements, sparking creativity and imagination by watching and responding to various famous biopics.

Our Bike Ed program is in full swing now, providing valuable lessons in bicycle safety. Watch out for updates on upcoming rides as our students hit the road, equipped with knowledge and enthusiasm.

Supporting meaningful causes is a core value at our school. We completed hosting business stalls run by our students, with proceeds going to The Lort Smith Animal Hospital to help animals and pets that will be in need over the holiday season. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our young entrepreneurs to make a positive impact on the community.

As we wrap up another successful year, students have been looking forward to the day of festivities, rides, and shared joy. We have also just completed our spectacular end-of-year celebration at Funfields!

This year, we are participating in an end of year gift exchange for all 5/6 students. This will be held on Friday 15th December in your child’s class and we don’t expect gifts to be more than $10.

We wish our graduating Year 6 students the very best in their future endeavours and hope they thoroughly enjoy their graduation ceremony on Monday 18th December.

We appreciate your ongoing support and involvement in our school community. Together, let’s make the end of 2024 memorable for our students.
