From the Acting Principal

Paula Burns

As we embrace the season of Advent, a time of waiting, of anticipation, of hoping and of looking forward to the most special time celebrating the birth of baby Jesus, in school life, we also use this time to reflect on the joyful bounty God has given this year. The learning that has happened, the friends that have been made and the sense of growth and achievement for every child in our community.

We farewell our Year 6 graduates Haseeb, Arsalan, Jackson, Hossain, Muntazir, Ali, Aahil, Masooma, Scarlet, Zahra, Saba and Zainab. We are so proud of the kindness, compassion, and leadership they have all shown this year, as they became true role models to all students in our school. We will miss all of them, but look forward to hearing how amazing they are doing in high school. We ask God to bless them as they take this next step in their educational journey.

We were very pleased and proud to find out about the achievements of one of our former students Kalaivani (sister of Aishwarya in Yr 5). Kalaivani who attended OLSH College after St Brigid's achieved Dux awards for Mathematical Methods, Physics and Visual Arts, as well as receiving the Ampol Best All Rounder, Principal's Choice Art Award and ADF Future Innovators Award (STEM).

Well done Kalaivani on all of your achievements.

Class Structure

After much thought and consideration, it gives me great pleasure to announce the class structure for 2024. The students will be notified of their class teacher, classroom space and fellow classmates on Tuesday afternoon. This information will come home for you with their reports also on Tuesday. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

Lost Property

As can be seen from the images above, we have a plethora of lost items in our lost and found space. We have checked for names and returned any labeled items. We have also asked the children to look and take home any items that belong to them, but, there are still many things left over. If your child has misplaced anything, please feel free to come in and look  or let your child and child's teacher know.

At the end of the school year all reusable items get washed and sent to Vinnies.

As this is the last newsletter of the year, I thank you for your continued support throughout this year. From Shannon, myself and all the staff at St Brigid's as we work together to be a community who is faith filled in love, who reverence relationships in peace, who pursue excellence in learning, and who touch the heart of all, may God bless you all, during these holidays and wishing you all the peace, love and joy of Christmas.

Yours in Peace, Love and Learning,

Paula Burns
