Principal's Message

It may not surprise you but in the last few months my thoughts have been closely connecting with the terms “alpha” and “omega.” The beginning and the end, the first and the last. This expression and its meaning, based on the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, appears in the New Testament (Revelation 1:8): “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending” meaning that God remains from the beginning to the end of time. I think about that especially as your time at Marian, as well as mine, has been immersed in a culture of faith and a spiritual connection.

It is with a mix of “Omega” emotions that I write this final article for the Marian News as I prepare to close this chapter of life as Principal of Marian College. It has been an incredible community to be a member of and a privilege to serve in partnership with you all for 17 years. From the time I was appointed to the role I knew very well that Marian had a long standing commitment to excellence in education and learning. Whilst we may have faced challenges we have also celebrated triumphs.  Over 2400 students have started their Marian journey over my 17 years here and I have witnessed their growth and development. It has been a journey marked by shared joys, collective achievements, and the deep bonds that form when a group of dedicated individuals comes together for a common purpose.

To the students, thank you for your enthusiasm, curiosity, and passion for learning that have inspired me every day. Witnessing your growth and accomplishments has been a highlight of my time here, and I have no doubt that you will continue to shine brightly in all your future endeavors.

To the parents, guardians, and families, I extend my sincere thanks for entrusting your children to our care. Your support, collaboration, and commitment to their education have been crucial to the success of our school community.

To the exceptional staff, thank you for your tireless dedication, professionalism, and the efforts you pour into your work. Your commitment to nurturing the holistic development of our students has set the foundation for a thriving learning and teaching environment.

I leave Marian with a multitude of memories that I know will last forever. The resilience of this community, the spirit of faith, and the pursuit of knowledge will always have a special place within me.

I am confident that Marian will continue to flourish and I eagerly anticipate hearing about the continued successes and achievements of our students and staff.

Thank you for allowing me the privilege of being a part of this remarkable journey as Principal of Marian. I am forever grateful for the memories, the friendships, and the impact that all of you have had on my life.

May God's blessings be with you all, and I look forward to crossing paths at some point in the future.
