Lead with Purpose

Lead with Purpose was the theme for the Casey Youth Services Leadership meeting at Bunjil Place on Wednesday 27 March. We were only allowed to take six students and so our senior SRC leaders represented our school. Rachel our Wellbeing Leader along with Peacelyne were very proud of the way our students participated in this great opportunity. The children have been inspired to definitely lead with purpose and were buzzing with ideas about ways they can make a difference in Term 2. We look forward to hearing about their ideas and action plans at our next SRC meeting.

Interviews for Prep 2026 at St Francis de Sales

Interviews for Prep 2026 will Commence this Term - Thursday 3 April 2025

We will be commencing interviews for siblings wishing to commence school at St Francis de Sales in 2026  on Thursday 3rd April. An invitation to book an appointment has been sent out. Thanks to the many families who have already booked their interview.

We have tours nearly every morning at 9 am. Help promote our school and share stories of the great learning and extra curricula  opportunities we provide.

Please inform neighbours and friends who will have a child eligible to start school in 2026 to book a tour.

Word of mouth stories about our great school community is the BEST promotion.

Student Engagement

It’s hard to believe that we are already at the end of March and near to the end of Term 1!  I wanted to take a moment to share how wonderful it is to walk through the school in the morning to see children transitioning so smoothly into their learning.  Children move from Morning Gathering with purpose, ready to engage in the day ahead. In the junior learning areas, phonics instruction and clinics based on  building essential literacy skills begins swiftly, while our senior students transition seamlessly into their literacy block. Daily reviews have become a tactic we use to ensure learning is not just fleeting but is embedded and can be retrieved and used as required for reading and comprehension proficiency. It’s remarkable to witness the high level of engagement, not just during these key learning times but throughout the entire school day.

When visiting classrooms, I see our students engaged, focused, and demonstrating self-efficacy in their learning. It’s a testament to the strong culture of learning and belonging we have at our school. We look forward to sharing the learning journey of your child in Parent/Teacher meetings next week.

Important Safety Reminder –

Crossing the Street Safely

The safety of our students is our top priority, and we kindly ask for your help in ensuring that drop-off and pick-up times remain as safe as possible. When crossing the street outside the school, please remember to:

Always use the designated crosswalks – Avoid crossing in the middle of the road or between parked cars.

Hold your child’s hand – Younger children may get distracted or misjudge traffic, so keeping a firm hold helps keep them safe.

Look both ways before crossing – Teach your child to stop, look, and listen before stepping onto the street.

Follow the crossing supervisor's instructions – If a crossing guard is present, please wait for their signal before proceeding.

Avoid distractions – Put away phones and headphones to stay fully aware of your surroundings.

Be a role model – Children learn by watching, so setting a good example reinforces safe habits.

Safe Parking

Drivers parking around the school are reminded to follow the Road Rules.

Parking cars on Nature Strips or driving a car over a nature strip is NOT permitted when you are dropping or picking up your child from school. We have had some near misses reported and we do not want any accidents with children or adults injured.

Please RESPECT our neighbours and do NOT block anyone's driveway.

We are so fortunate to have ample car parking opportunities around the school.

Please support us to keep children safe and display respect and safe driving etiquette.

Police have been notified by concerned parents and fines will apply.

By following these simple steps, we can work together to create a safer environment for all students. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to safety!
