Year 11 Camp

This year, the school camp took place at Phillip Island from April 19th to 21st. The main purpose of the camp was not only to enjoy ourselves but also to form meaningful and engaging relationships between all students. It was a perfect opportunity to step out of the classroom and into an environment that encouraged personal growth, cooperation, and unforgettable experiences.

Throughout the three days, we participated in a range of thrilling and team-oriented activities. Among the highlights was the team rescue, where we worked together to solve challenges and build trust, and canoeing, which tested our teamwork on the water. One of the most memorable activities was raft building, where we had to construct a raft out of limited materials and then put it to the test on the water, laughing and learning as we faced the challenge together. We also had the chance to go on the flying fox, which brought out a sense of adventure and excitement in everyone. The surfing lesson was another thrilling experience, where many of us faced the waves for the first time, with plenty of laughs and falls along the way. These activities were not only fun but also encouraged us to step outside our comfort zones, challenge ourselves, and support one another in new and unique ways. Through these shared experiences, we formed stronger bonds and created lasting memories. Beyond the physical activities, the camp provided a much-needed break from the pressures of school life, giving us the chance to relax, unwind, and simply enjoy the company of our peers. It was a time to reflect, connect, and build relationships that go beyond the classroom.

In the end, the Year 11 camp at Phillip Island was more than just an adventure; it was an opportunity for personal growth, teamwork, and reflection. As we left the camp, we knew that the experiences we shared would stay with us for a long time. It was a trip that we’ll remember fondly and one that helped shape our Year 11 journey in ways we hadn’t expected.  - Raffaella G. and Anastasia G.

Year 11 VCE Media

We published some still images in the last edition of The Cheltonian, now...Get a sneak peak glimpse of the upcoming Year 11 Indie thriller horror film called HAZY MAZE, directed by George K. It's a film about a pair of teenagers who secretly sneaked into high school grounds after hours to get up to mischief, messing with the garden not knowing what turn of events awaits their fate beyond the school boundaries. What horrors are waiting for the right moment to strike? Who is the harvester, and who is the crop? It will be released later this year.

Year 12 VCE VM

During VCE VM 3/4 this term, we focused on Personal and Recreational Numeracy. The students attended the Grand Prix in March, so to tie in with this, we focused our numeracy skills around that. Students were required to make a scale model of an F1 Grand Prix track from around the world. This involved students researching information about their track, including the track distance, the size of the grandstands, and other things at their track. Once the measurements were found, students were then required to use their mathematics skills to scale it down. Once complete, students presented their track accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation. Well done on a great unit of work!
