Man Cave Workshops

We are excited to share the highlights from the recent Man Cave all-day workshops hosted by Gaz and Ethan, designed specifically for our Year 7, 8, and 9 students. These workshops provided an engaging and supportive environment for participants to explore essential themes around masculinity and the impact of societal expectations on young men today.
Throughout the day, students participated in a series of interactive activities focused on building camaraderie and trust. The workshops, grounded in the Rites of Passage framework, encouraged open and honest conversations about important topics such as mental health, relationships, and consent. Participants had the opportunity to engage in group-building exercises and interactive games that not only fostered teamwork but also helped them reflect on their own experiences.
One of the key objectives of the Man Cave workshops was to challenge outdated notions of masculinity and promote healthier relationships with oneself and others. The discussions were thought-provoking, allowing students to share their thoughts and feelings in a safe space, ultimately leading to greater understanding and empathy among peers.
Feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing how valuable they found the conversations and activities. The workshops have not only equipped them with vital life skills but also encouraged them to think critically about their identities and the roles they play in their relationships.
Thank you also to the parents who tuned into the parent sessions hosted online by Man Cave staff, who facilitated conversations on the topics of social media, mental health, and relationships. This was a great opportunity for parents to connect in a supportive environment and discuss the challenges of raising boys in our modern world.
We look forward to continuing the conversations from these workshops with our students and are grateful to Gaz and Ethan and school staff for their dedication to fostering a positive and supportive environment for our young men. Stay tuned for more updates on future initiatives aimed at empowering our students!
