Year 9 Passion Project: Baking for a Cause!

Our Year 9 students have taken on a delicious challenge for their Passion Project this term baking!

Their first task was to create the perfect Hot Cross Bun, one that would delight the students at Viewbank College.

After much recipe testing and creativity, the students developed a batch of mouth-watering buns that were sold at the Pop-Up Café during break time.

A group of enthusiastic volunteers from the class also managed the sale, ensuring everything ran smoothly and efficiently. The proceeds from the sale will help fund the continuation of the baking project throughout Term 2, allowing the students to explore more culinary creations while learning valuable skills.

We can't wait to see what they bake up next!

Year 8 Food Tech

Year 8 students have made fantastic progress in Food Technology, diving into a variety of topics and recipes to sharpen their skills and expand their knowledge.

From understanding kitchen safety to learning the basics of food preparation, they've gained a solid foundation to build upon.

A standout moment for many was the baking of Chocolate Chip Cookies, where students had the opportunity to showcase their creativity and technique.

The pride they felt in their final products was evident, and the joy of sharing their delicious cookies with others made it even more special. With these accomplishments under their belt, the students are excited and ready to explore the next stages of their learning journey in the kitchen.
