Year 10 Outdoor Education
This term the Year 10 students participated in a water safety unit, looking at aquatic biomes, first aid and safe participation in various water activities. Students participated In a surfing session with Go Ride a Wave. Students were able to development their understanding of beach safety as well as develop their skills in surfing. Student also participated in a kayaking skills session with Paddle Victoria on the Yarra River. Students were also able to use these skills in a competitive game of Kayak Ball.
Unit 3 Outdoor Education
The Unit 3 Outdoor and Environmental studies recently took part in a 3 day camp a Wilsons Promontory National Park. Students investigated the changing relationships within the park looking at the diverse landscape of flora and fauna, indigenous relationships, the impact of land uses over time and the various land management strategies to ensure sustainable recreation and tourism within the environment. Students participated in a surfing lesson at Sandy Point, various hikes including a hike up Mt Bishop and to Millers Landing to Corner Inlet and gathered data relating to sustainable land use.
