Student Leadership
This term, five Viewbank College students have been based at the Alpine School for Student Leadership – Don Valley Campus, taking part in an immersive, term-long residential program that fosters independence, resilience, and community leadership.
The highlight of their experience was the Don Valley CLP (Community Learning Project) Day, held on March 28th, where students from multiple campuses gathered to present their community learning projects to peers, teachers, and visiting school staff. The day was a celebration of student voice and leadership, with each group showcasing the ideas they had developed throughout the term to make a meaningful impact within their home communities.
Our Viewbank students presented with confidence and clarity, outlining their vision for a volunteer-based program that encourages Viewbank students to engage with the local community through environmental conservation groups. This project has also been heavily supported by James Dean, a member Viewbank school community and president of the Warringal Conservation Society.
