Maths Day

Maths Day

Maths Day was held on the 14th of March to celebrate both Pi Day and Albert Einstein's birthday. In preparation for the event, our student leaders met weekly to brainstorm and ensure a smooth execution, while also focusing on publicity through posters and social media.

Our team also designed custom merchandise to commemorate the event which added an extra layer of excitement among the primary students as well as the student leaders.

On the day, we had some wonderfully talented grade 5 and 6 students visit us from Rosanna Primary, Viewbank Primary, and Banyule Primary to take part in a riveting maths treasure hunt and modelling activity.

It was amazing to see how our young students were able to interact with each other, encouraging teamwork, problem solving and celebrating their shared passion for maths. They all loved the activities, and we really hope to see more events with our neighbouring primary schools in the future.

As leaders and role models for other students as well as young primary schoolers, we take great pride in the hard work we put to organise Maths Day. It was a great opportunity to not only express our enthusiasm for math but also show leadership and innovation by being part of a student team. We hope everyone enjoyed this day as much as we did and possibly this should become an annual event?!

A huge thank you to Mrs Mahajan, Mr Baggiere and Ms Hu and all the student leaders for dedicating your time and effort into making this event a success!
