BOOK FAIR

Our Scholastic Book Fair will be running on Thursday 27th March from 9am-6pm in the library.  Please come by while you’re at school for our Student Agency Conferences and grab a bargain!

Over the coming week, students have had the opportunity to take an early look at what will be available for sale on the day of the Fair.  A pamphlet will also be going home this week, which will give you a chance to have a look online at titles that will be available at this year’s Fair. You can also pre-purchase titles via the QR code on the pamphlet, but we encourage you to come and have a wander through our Book Fair and check out the books in person!

If you do decide to pre-purchase any books, please make sure you bring your receipt number, amount paid and details of the books you’ve pre-purchased along to the Fair, and present it to our sales table as proof of purchase. You’ll either be able to collect the books immediately, or if we’ve sold out of available copies before you arrive, we will order in a new copy for you. The books will then be delivered to your child’s classroom once they arrive at school after the Fair.

The Scholastic Book Fair is a fantastic way to encourage your children to discover and read books that really interest them, but it is also an important fundraising event for our school.

Hope to see you there!

CAMPS, SPORTS, EXCURSION FUND (CSEF)

School camps provide children with inspiring experiences in the great outdoors. Excursions encourage a deeper understanding of how the world works while sports teach teamwork, discipline and leadership.  All are a part of a healthy curriculum.  CSEF is provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.

If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. A special consideration category also exists for asylum seeker and refugee families. The allowance is paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions or sporting activities for the benefit of your child.

The annual CSEF amount per primary school student is $154.

If you received CSEF in 2024 you do not need to apply again, however if you are new to Greenhills and have a valid concession card or have an additional child (eg Prep) that commenced, please complete the attached form (available from the office too) and hand into the office with a copy of your concession card. Any queries please don’t hesitate to contact the office.  Applications close 4th July 2025.  Here is the link to complete the form :

EXCURSIONS/INCURSION PERMISSION FORMS

Excursions and incursions certainly offer our students rich and engaging learning opportunities. They are also often some of the most memorable events and experiences students remember during their time at our school. They are also a significant load for our staff to organise and run.

As such we need your support in finalising permissions and any associated payments at least 48 hours prior to the event.  Certain events like Camps will close earlier than 48 hours.

This allows time for staff to make final checks on numbers and print out all the required paperwork and handbooks. These include the emergency contact details of those that attend so that in the case of an emergency we can ensure we have everything we need. These handbooks are printed and distributed to all staff attending and a copy is also left at the school office. Our staff need to complete this on the day before the event to minimise all the other requirements needed to do on the day itself.

This process will be strictly enforced. We will be unable to make telephone calls home on the morning of an event to follow up any missing permissions. If you are having trouble accessing Compass, need a hard copy of a permission form or require support to make a payment please contact the office. We do not want any students to miss out on these opportunities and will do everything to support you prior to the day to ensure that everything is organized as it should be.
